MILEAGE CONTEST 2009
This contest is the same as it was for the 2008 contest, and is just what it sounds like; your miles count as your 'points.' The Mileage Contest is open to "Full" H.O.G. members. The mileage turned in must be for HD/Buell riders. This is a member event.
Please send or enter the starting miles from your current motorcycle for the year 2009. If you ride more than one motorcycle, please enter the starting mileage from both/all motorcycles. There is a sign-up sheet available on the clipboard near the HOG Chapter bulletin board in the "rest area" of the dealership.
If you do a "Fly and Ride" you may enter the starting and ending mileage by writing it down on the receipt you get and having someone sign it to verify your miles.
If you sell your old bike and buy a new one, please turn in your ending mileage, and turn in the starting mileage from the new bike.
If your butt wasn't on that bike while the miles were put on it, then the miles don't count. OK? (I will make an exception for test riding if your bike is in the shop and it doesn't exceed 100 miles).
Any time you borrow a "loaner" HD/Buell bike you may include the mileage. Have someone who doesn't love you verify on a piece of paper the starting and finishing miles AND SIGN IT.
Seems simple? Well it is.
The best possible world is a picture of your odometer reading. In some cases, just ask a FHD emloyee to view your odometer! But if not, we'll trust you!
A sign-up sheet will be available on a clipboard near the HOG Chapter bulletin board which is near the service area at the new dealership.
If you can't get to or can't find the sign-up sheet, send an Email to roadcaptain@faribaulthd.com. Or jot down on a note: your make & model bike and the starting, and later the ending, mileage and give to a HOG officer.
Turn in your mileage, and mileage receipts by December 15, 2009. Log your starting and ending mileage with a HOG officer.
**In the event of a tie, Chapter Participation points (as described for Road Contest) will be tallied as a tiebreaker.
Ride Safe, have Fun!

To get credit for these things, be sure to sign in at each event! Make sure you look for the sign-up sheet for each event. A HOG officer will tally point totals at the end of the year. (It couldn't hurt if you kept tally yourself too, so nothing slips through the cracks.)
"Park & Ride Contest"
This years contest will be called "Park & Ride".This will be unlike the bureaucrats that want you to go to a designated lot , leave your vehicle, and hop on a bus or train. We want to see our members live by the motto. Let's ride! So this year, ride your bike to as many City Parks, County Parks, State Parks, and National Parks as you can. Stopping to enjoy the scenery available when you don't have to view the world through rolled up windows. Take your picture in front of an entrance sign and submit those photos to Sarah Hedstrom. At the end of the season, we will tally up the totals and award the person with the most visits to different parks our annual prize. As usual, we will award a second prize for the most unusual location.
*Riders and passengers are eligible.
*You must arrive on a Harley-Davidson.
*You may want to keep a disposable camera in your bike so you will always be able to capture that Kodak moment.
*You can only use each park once.
